Tapping chucks are designed to assist tapping operation on the machine. The tapping process requires a tool to rotate clockwise when tap moving forward and then reverse when it is moving backward.
Read MoreThis sudden change in the direction of the tool creates a lot of disturbance on the machine spindle. Secondly, the tap may break when suddenly stopped and reversed out of the hole in a milling machine due to the force drawing tool downwards. Tapping chucks along with tap adapters help to automatically reverse the direction of the tap without change in the direction of spindle rotation. This helps to reduce the load on the machine spindle and thereby improve its life span. BPTL provides Tap chucks of two types, 1. Tension and Compression type, and 2. Solid type. Tap chucks are available in various tapers such as BT (MAS403/JIS B 6339), DV (DIN 69871), HSK (DIN 69893), Morse Taper, and Straight Shank.
